Avocado Cottage is a 2-bedroom oceanfront home in West Bay at the northern tip of Cayman's western peninsula. Architecturally identical to the other three cottages surrounding it, this cozy getaway can sleep 5 guests, 4 adults max.


Each floor plan opens to the sea with a pergola extending over the front porch creating an elevated lounging perch with ocean views. The bedroom suites sit on opposite wings of the cottage for maximum privacy with direct access to the front porch.

  • Primary Suite - king bed, TV with Apple TV device, garden and ocean views, ensuite bath with modern fixtures, large jacuzzi tub, stand-alone rain shower.

  • Guest Suite - queen bed, TV with Apple TV device, garden and ocean views, ensuite bath with modern fixtures, European shower-tub combo.

  • A roll-away bed is available in each cottage.


Each cottage features a vaulted great room with ocean views encompassing the living, dining and kitchen areas. The professionally-decorated interiors combine soothing hues, natural textures, and modern materials to evoke an updated island vibe. 


The kitchen is outfitted with stainless appliances including a side-by-side refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, electric range, and modern appliances. The kitchens are fully stocked with plates, glassware, flatware, and serving pieces. A family dining table sits adjacent to the kitchen with seating for all.


The living area is punctuated with a colorful accent wall and a flat-screen TV with an Apple TV device. The ocean views also make quite a statement. Each cottage is also equipped with a full washer and dryer, personal safe, and wifi. 


We usually require a 3-night minimum, however, during the low season the owner may consider shorter stays. Please inquire prior to booking.


ABOUT SEA ORCHARD RETREAT


Sea Orchard Retreat is a boutique gated resort of oceanfront cottages on the quiet north coast of West Bay in beautiful Grand Cayman. Located just 10 minutes from Seven Mile Beach, guests can enjoy all the resorts, water-sports, restaurants, and leisure activities the area has to offer. The shops of George Town & Camana Bay are also only a short drive away.**


The resort consists of four individual 2-bedroom cottages, a large resort pool with heated spa and cabanas, a fitness center, and seaside hammocks under sea grape trees. 


With 400 feet of natural shoreline perched on a reef-protected marine park, guests can enjoy a vibrant snorkeling experience or kayaking adventure. While it has a sandy beach, that is raked periodically, it's not a barefoot swimming beach. However, guests are provided both snorkeling gear and complimentary water shoes for exploring. 


Famous Ristorante Pappagallo is within walking distance while the new Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa is less than 10 minutes away by cab. Barkers Beach, an oceanfront nature conservancy home to nesting turtles, birds, and other fauna is a short 5-minute walk away. Since there is no Uber or Lyft on-island you might want to consider a rental car. The resort has gated on-site parking.

Unforgettable

Our time at Sea Orchard Retreat was unforgettable! It was our first time on Grand Cayman and we wanted something away from the hustle and bustle of 7MB but also close enough that we could easily get anywhere we wanted to go. Avocado Cottage and the entire Sea Orchard Retreat was the PERFECT fit for our family. A quiet, private getaway, where we could all regroup and reconnect, while relaxing with the beautiful Caribbean Ocean as the backdrop. I can’t begin to describe the detail that has gone into making sure guests are comfortable and well cared for. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we never needed a thing! Vic was the most hospitable hostess … so kind and helpful right when we arrived! Avocado Cottage was stocked with literally everything we might need. Coffee filters, spice rack, laundry pods, kayaks, snorkeling gear, beach chairs, beach towels, etc. I could go on and on! Our family especially loved the pool, the gym, and waking up at sunrise to drink our coffee outside, This property is a gem and we’ve already decided we will return!

Avocado + Other Cottages

We rented the entire Sea Orchard Retreat property for our wedding for 6 days. the entire property was wonderful. each cottage was well equipped for the entire time we were there. the property itself was well maintained and clean. the property maintenance worker was there daily and readily available for anything we needed. the location is quiet and very nice for a relaxing getaway yet close enough to a grocery store and a really nice restaurant within walking distance. couldn\'t of asked for anything more during our stay.

Perfect Fit

We had a group of 15 adults and had an amazing time at Sea Orchard Retreat! The weather was great and the property was the perfect fit for all. There are enough spaces for those seeking solitude or to hang by the pool with everyone. All the villa\\\'s are similar in layout and very well stocked so we all felt we were in the best one! Tranquility and kindness at its best

Our stay at Sea Orchard was beyond expectation. Great views, tranquility in the gardens, birds, sounds of the ocean... It was truly a retreat, away from the hustle and bustle, with a restaurant walking distance and a short drive to a little supermarket a d close to 7 miles Beach. Paddle boards, kayaks and snorkel gear and Beach shoes are included. The cottages are well apart, spacious and well build. We loved our stay.

Fantastic Cottages

This property was more than advertised. I’ve stayed in quite a few condos and timeshares and was spoiled by Sea Orchard Retreat. Beautiful property, amazing amenities and fantastic cottages. The service was impeccable with so many little touches that no one in our diverse group of seventeen had any negatives to say which is saying a lot for our group. Many small and unique aspects and amenities that surprised us all such as fishing poles, snorkel equipment and small things like a terrific spice rack and laundry detergent.

Perfect in every way

This location exceeded expectations. I looked at a lot of the website information and email, and the property exceeded my expectations. We came for our vow renewal and the property was perfect for missing family and friends. Each group loved their cottage, was impressed with the amenities and service provided through the agents as well as the recommended vendors. We had a private chef come in to cater multiple dinners based on the property manager’s recommendations and the food was consistently excellent. We enjoyed the grounds, loved all of the bonus items you normally don’t get with rental properties and all of the small touches. Each cottage was fully equipped with more than we ever expected and the additional “toys” such as a kayak, snorkel equipment and more meant that we overpacked for no need. The property manager was quick to respond and recommend restaurants, vendors and fill any requests with amazing speed and friendliness. While sitting on a beach front pergola one morning a groundskeeper surprised us with fresh coconut from the property’s palm trees. A million little touches and services made this the trip of a lifetime and more than we ever expected!

Also, the staff went out of their way to set up the place to celebrate my daughter\'s birthday. She loved the decorations they put in for her. We are truly grateful for the special consideration.

Amazing Wedding Spot

What an amazing experience! Without exception, the guests LOVED our extended wedding weekend at Sea Orchard. So nice to have the property to ourselves occupying all four wonderful cottages, and having a pool and hot tub to ourselves. The wedding was held on the lawn at one end with vows overlooking the ocean. Overhead strings of lights that we had installed for the event made the area beautiful by night as well. Fantastic photos captured the unforgettable experience. The cottages were nicely decorated. Amenities provided everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. The area was quiet and so relaxing. My only regret is that I didn\\\'t get a chance to use the provided ocean kayaks and paddle boards - we ran out of time!

Nice setting, spacious cottage

We spent a week in Avocado Cottage. Our arrival was a bit problematic as no one was there and we couldn\'t get into the gate and the code we were provided didn\'t work. We were aided by a passing government tourism worker, who was very nice and who called Vic, who showed up and let us in. The cottage was spacious and the kitchen was well equipped with nice appliances. However, it really could use a sprucing up. Rugs were stained, some shades were broken and didn\'t work, an electrical box was hanging out of the wall on the porch, one window didn\'t close and I stuffed paper towels into it, etc. Also the lighting is poor--it really could use some lamps so you can read in the king bedroom and living area. It was odd that in order to operate one of the bedside lamps you had to reach way behind the headboard in each bedroom. One toilet didn\'t flush all of the time so we stopped using it. The king bed was very soft and the mattress pad would come off during the night and bunch up on the bed, making us get up and re make it. The grounds have seen better days but we understand that the property was closed for a long time, and suffered a storm to add insult to injury, and deferred maintenance is just starting to be addressed. Every day they worked on the grounds, cutting down coconuts and fronds, repairing the fence, clearing debris with gas blowers, etc. It was noisy, but we did not complain as we knew it had to be done. Had we known that this was going on, we likely would have come later in the season. The pool rail is very loose, for instance, and hard to use, and the cushions on the pool couch are torn, with stuffing coming out. Some of the chaises are broken. Plastic garbage along the shore. We wish Sea Orchard good luck getting things in shape so that the property is as pictured and described. Vic deserves credit for being hardworking and caring about the guests.

Peaceful and Private

If one is looking to relax in a beautiful environment, this is the place. These cottages are very comfortable, well appointed. Any little issue that came up was promptly addressed by Fiona and her staff. Everybody was super friendly. The cottages at some point were fully rented and still it was quiet and private. If you want a quiet retreat, this is it. If you want glitz and excitement, then choose a resort.

I would have given this a 5 star rating, however there were a few small things that could be improved upon. All in all, a great spacious cottage with amazing views and the feeling of being tucked away out of sight.

Best get away with a touch of authentic.

The retreat was fantastic , very clean , accommodating & relaxing . The only issue was the Wi-Fi that was really poor however the overall stay you realize you wont need any WIFI after all... Will defiantly be staying again

Great Luxurious Property!!

This luxurious property was absolutely perfect for our group gathering. Everyone had their own bedroom suite, view of the ocean, access to the pool, outdoor relaxation areas and more. The onsite staff was extremely helpful and accommodating with all of our need - both leading up to the trip, and while onsite. They provide ocean toys (paddleboards, snorkel gear, etc.) and we found a Yoga instructor to come teach on the property. Seven mile beach is a short cab ride away, to oceanfront hotels, dining and nightlife. I would highly recommend this paradise to groups who want to escape together, but want their own private lodging accommodations. It\'s amazing!

What A Perfect Vacation

I can not say anything more than \"WOW\". We had such a great time enjoying the property, the property amenities and what the island had to offer. I can say that everything we did from diving to exploring the island was perfect. People on the island are very friendly and the food was excellent. If you are looking for a perfect property to get away or have a location where you can get a few other friends together I would recommend staying at one of the villas on property premises. The location on the island is perfect and it is also very quite. We are looking for to returning soon.

Secluded Paradise

My Wife and I spent four nights at the Avocado Cottage at the Sea Orchard Retreat. It was a wonderful experience. Ms. Fiona, our host, was extremely helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. She even provided a beautiful welcome arrangement with Hydrangea and Champagne for our Honeymoon. We were the only ones at the retreat during our stay so it was Very Quiet...literally did not hear anything but, birds, wind, waves, and crickets....very peaceful like on our own private island. A steady wind kept the mosquitos at bay during our visit...though the water was too rough to use the kayaks. Just a matter of timing, not a criticism at all. Such a beautiful view from our cottage...and the stars just lit up the night. The landscaping was amazing..like a lush tropical jungle. Just beautiful. The Cottage was essentially brand new and full of modern decorative taste and creature comfort luxury. The property had only been operated under the current ownership for a short time when we visited - It was clear they were actively addressing the minor issues apparent during the transition. The pool/hut-tub were undergoing maintenance when we were there and the owner was setting up the indoor music systems (Apple TV was available, but we couldn\'t figure out how to use it for music.). Some of the outdoor amenities associated with the pool area (chairs/cushions) were showing some wear...however, Everything associated with the Cottage was in tip top shape, and suited for relaxation. We rented bikes to tour Barkers Park/Preserve...many good food options in the area (Vivo and Alfresca were particular standouts). Short ride to Cemetery Beach (our favorite) for swimming and snorkeling. Sea Orchard Retreat is very reasonably priced for the level of luxury, cleanliness and comfort...a place in paradise for sure. A Secret Spot

The avocado cottage was one of the best places we have stayed on any island. We had the entire property to ourselves. Fiona, the manager, was great and helpful. It felt like we had an island to ourselves. It was a 10 minute drive to 7 mile beach for long walks. The people in Grand Cayman take great pride in their island. The beach is not a real walking beach, although you can. It was a truly delightful trip!

Fantastic Small Resort

Our group of 6 couples rented all 4 cottages at the Sea Orchard Retreat, and we had a great stay at this intimate beachfront resort. The pool area is wonderful with plenty of lounges and tables/chairs and we spent hours poolside tanning, playing cards, enjoying music, and eating some meals. The cottages are very modern and have a great layout with a king bedroom on one side and a queen or 2 twin bedroom on the other side, providing very good privacy for every couple. Each unit has a full kitchen and washer/dryer, enabling us to eat some meals in and also do some laundry. A nice audio/video setup allows you to watch TV via AppleTV, or play music throughout the cottage due to speakers in all of the rooms. The Wifi was strong, and cellphone service was adequate. This is a very private, quiet resort, allowing you to have a very relaxing experience or to be a bit rowdy without worrying about disturbing the neighbors. We arranged for massages one day that were done in a small cabana down by the beach, and this was an amazing, relaxing experience for the wives. There are also excellent amenities such as kayaks, snorkeling gear, water shoes, plenty of beach towels, etc. You are only a short walk to the Pappagallo Restaurant where we had a couple of fantastic dinners. I would absolutely recommend this resort for groups like ours, and also for smaller groups that may take 1-2 cottages.

Fantastic

Sea Orchard Retreat is an absolutely stunning property! We chose it for our wedding and could not have been happier with how everything turned out. It features four 2 bedroom cottages, each fully equipped with full kitchens, which was not only great for us, but great for our caterers too during our dinner service. Each of the cottages are gorgeously decorated and the master bedrooms feature a huge master bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, loads of trees which offer plenty of privacy if needed but lots of common space if you decide to stay with a large group like we did. The pool area is great; centrally located on the property and fully kitted out with lounge furniture and tables and chairs, which worked perfectly for a family BBQ after the wedding. The property is located in West Bay, near several fantastic restaurants including Ristorante Papaggallo, Calypso Grill, Catch and Macabuca. The bypass means that you can easily access Camana Bay and Seven Mile Beach as well, though it certainly helps to have a car. Fiona was fantastic, she was always super responsive and willing to help out however she could to help make our stay amazing. We recommend Sea Orchard Retreat to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and one-of-a-kind stay on the island! We will be back for sure!

Sea Orchard Retreat is a gated oceanfront boutique resort with 4 private well-decorated 2-bedroom, 2-bath villas surrounding an oceanfront pool and spa. 

The actual beach here is sandy, however, the shoreline can be pebbly & rocky as one enters the water to snorkel. Our guests will use kayaks to access the shallow snorkeling reef and coral heads.

Sea Orchard Retreat is less than 10 minutes from the barefoot swimming on Seven Mile Beach, as well as all the restaurants, resorts, and water sports offered.

General Grand Cayman Beach Notes

All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically “public” since the Queen owns up to the high water mark and the shoreline quality behind your property may vary seasonally. Be advised that the beach or water entry behind your property may vary slightly from the images on our website because of the weather. The next-door beach is also always available for your use.

Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed

Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally. Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency in recent years. Although sargassum is an unsightly nuisance, it is largely seasonal in summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked prior to your arrival.

Lower Occupancy Discounts

  • The owner lowers the rate by $50/night for 2 or fewer guests occupying the villa. The discount will be reflected automatically during the booking process. Festive dates are blacked out.

Booking Rules

  • 3 nights minimum stay required.
  • 5 nights minimum and full occupancy required over Thanksgiving.
  • 7 nights minimum and full occupancy required over Christmas and New Year's week.
  • Inquire for Last-Minute Discounts!
  • Shorter stays may be available but subject to a higher cleaning fee. Please inquire before booking.
  • No check-ins over Christmas Day, Boxing Day (Dec 26), and Easter Sunday.
  • Must be 21 years or older to book and must occupy the cottage during the entire rental period.
  • Small weddings encouraged!  Supplemental refundable wedding deposit required.
  • Local resident rates available.

Villa Cleaning & Sanitation

All villas are cleaned and sanitized prior to each guest's arrival. We also ask our owners to provide a starter supply of extra cleaning products.

Additional housekeeping services can be purchased after booking in 3-hour time blocks. Scheduling may be coordinated with your property manager upon arrival.
